Honey can crystallize if it gets cold or sits unused for more than a few weeks, but don’t fret! Your honey will be good as new if you just heat it up properly.
Pantown Bee Co. only sells honey in glass containers, which are safest for reheating. Just follow these simple steps.
- Put the glass container with crystallized honey in a slightly larger container (like a pot from the stove)
- Pour warm (not boiling, a little less hot than that) water into the pan, on the outside of the container.
- Let it sit for a few minutes.
And you’re done! You can repeat this process as many times as you want and as often as you need. Once you get to the bottom of a jar and there’s about a teaspoon left, it doesn’t always work to heat it with warm water. If this happens to you, put the jar in the microwave for 10-15 seconds and then pour the honey into the bottom of a mug for a nice, soothing cup of tea. This is the only time that microwaving is recommended.
